The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating an outbreak of salmonella linked to recalled cucumbers. The cucumbers were distributed to 14 states. The FDA has named two growers whose cucumbers have been determined to be a source of the outbreak.

Symptoms of salmonella infection include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal cramps. Most people recover within a few days, but some people can develop serious complications, such as sepsis and meningitis.

If you have eaten cucumbers recently and are experiencing symptoms of salmonella infection, contact your doctor immediately.
